...Dal 18 di marzo presenti alla galleria parigina NextLevel la tua nuova collezione Gridlock. Lampade e arredi costituiti da una struttura metallica tridimensionale ripetuta all’infinito...?Il mio obiettivo era di realizzare qualcosa che sfuggisse al tema della decorazione, fin troppo presente nel design degli ultimi anni. Il paradosso è che questo tipo di struttura, anche se apparentemente tecnica, una volta ripetuta all’infinito può essere considerata ‘decorativa’.
Una sorta di interpretazione contemporanea del tema? ?In realtà lo sforzo è stato un altro: realizzare un progetto che potesse rappresentare al massimo la leggerezza della griglia di alluminio, fino a creare oggetti quasi invisibili. La dimensione decorativa è quindi solo una semplice conseguenza...

Pour faire le portrait de l'espace urbain, F.X. Combes part des lignes des immeubles, de leurs formes basiques. Afin d'obtenir une certaine distance avec la réalité, il ne retouche pas les images: il les photographie sur l'écran de son ordinateur. En photographiant plusieurs fois le même motif, il obtient des images quasi-similaires, mais dont l'éclairage ou le cadrage diffèrent imperceptiblement. Ensuite, il les réorganise, les structure, leur donne une nouvelle forme et une couleur. De ces nouvelles images naît une vision pure de la ville.

Pour l'exposition Materia chez NextLevel, celui-ci (Nicolas Le Moigne) propose des combinaisons surprenantes entre divers matériaux : contreplaqué bouleau, acier, aluminium, verre et velours s'entrechoquent avec subtilité. Les formes arrondies des plateaux contrastent avec la rugosité des piétements. Suivant le principe qu'il avait initié avec Verso Diverso (série à succès produit par Viceversa), les vases Flore magnifient leur contenant.
